Lizzie Walker

Legal Support Assistant

Lizzie graduated from the University of Kent in 2015 with a degree in Sociology. Her early career was rooted in the charity sector, where she spent nine months as an intern at homeless charity Antifreeze in Hove. There, she provided one-to-one support to clients – accompanying them to appointments, assisting with CVs, and helping them find suitable accommodation.

Lizzie later moved into financial services, joining American Express in 2016. She initially worked in payment processing for the Nordic region before transitioning into a specialist role as an Unidentified Payments Analyst. Over five years in that role, she developed a keen analytical eye and took on additional responsibilities, including training overseas colleagues in end-to-end processes.

After a brief period as an administrator in the HR department at the Martlets Hospice, Lizzie secured her first London-based position at UK Finance in 2022. There, she worked as an Economic Crime Data & Insight Analyst – providing valuable data and insights to members on fraud and scam trends affecting the financial sector.

Lizzie brings a wealth of administrative, analytical, and client-focused experience to her role at Renaissance Legal and is passionate about making a positive difference in people’s lives.

Getting to know Lizzie

If you were not working in this role, what job would you do?
I’d love to be a food writer or critic—mainly so I could indulge at some of the best restaurants on a regular basis! I’d also love to do something more meaningful, like teaching vulnerable people basic cooking skills.

If you were given a day off work, where would we find you?
At home, relaxing with a documentary, followed by a walk along the beach—and ideally ending the day with a glass of wine or a cosmopolitan in hand!

What can you do that no one else in the office can do?
I can identify all 197 flags of the world!

If you could go back in history to a specific date or time, what would it be?
I’d go back to when I visited Barbados and its beautiful beaches—although preferably as an adult this time, so I could enjoy the rum!

Where in the world would you most like to visit?
I don’t think I can narrow it down to just one place! In the short term, I’d love to explore Seville, but a bigger goal is to see the Northern Lights and visit all of the Nordic countries.
